A mom has spoken out in warning after her son was shocked with \u2018enough amps to kill him\u2019 and \u2018nearly died\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On April 30, 2024, Danielle Davis woke up to hear her 16-year-old\u00a0son\u00a0Rayce Ogdahl screaming.<\/p>\n

Davis said: \u201cI heard him shout \u2018mom\u2019 and my son was standing in the hallway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rushing to the teenager\u2019s room, the mom discovered her son with\u00a0burn\u00a0marks around his neck.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said: \u2018I\u2019ve been electrocuted,’\u201d the mom recalled.<\/p>\n

Danielle detailed her son\u2019s explanation as to being in bed, having \u2018rolled over to get comfortable when he heard something fall off the bed\u2019.<\/p>\n

The teen\u2019s\u00a0phone\u00a0had been on charge \u2018so his alarm would go off for school the next day\u2019.<\/p>\n

The mom has spoken out in warning to other parents and teens (Kennedy)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

However, when Rayce rolled over, his metal necklace came into contact with exposed progs from the charger\u2019s plug in an extension cord.<\/p>\n

The contact caused a surge of power to go through the necklace, in turn scorching his neck.<\/p>\n

The mom added: \u201cBecause everything was metal, it made a complete circuit around his neck.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rayce was reportedly \u2018completely conscious throughout the whole thing and aware he was being electrocuted,\u2019 his entire body beginning to hurt after the voltage surged through.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said this all happened within a matter of seconds and he visibly saw sparks coming from his neck,\u201d the mom said. \u201cHe told me his whole body hurt and he thought he was going to die.\u201d<\/p>\n

The teen was admitted to intensive care (Kennedy)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After hearing his screams and seeing the burns, Danielle quickly rushed him to Integris Health Baptist Medical Center in\u00a0Oklahoma.<\/p>\n

Admitted to intensive care, doctors said Rayce had suffered a variety of second, third and fourth-degree burns and had been shocked with \u2018enough amps to kill him\u2019.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s since been left with scars covering \u2018almost his entire neck\u2019 from \u2018his chin to his collarbone\u2019 and \u2018you can see the pattern of the necklace\u2019 there too.<\/p>\n

Danielle reflected the incident has \u2018definitely made Rayce a lot more self-aware\u2019.<\/p>\n

The mom resolved: \u201cWe\u2019re just so grateful he\u2019s OK. He could\u2019ve easily died that night. It was amazing he was still conscious and could still alert us. It would\u2019ve been a different story.\u201d<\/p>\n

Warning others, she added: \u201cWhen it comes to your phone, there\u2019s not a text message or notification that is important enough to have your phone on your bed. Anything can happen and Rayce is proof of that.<\/p>\n

\u201cPay attention to your cords and I would recommend to anybody don\u2019t use extension cords at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
